Ali and Eric’s Minikahda Club wedding was truly one of the most beautiful and laid back weddings I’ve ever photographed! They tied the knot on a perfect May day in Minneapolis. The sun just peeked through the clouds throughout the day, giving us the most beautiful lighting. A photographer’s dream!
The Minikahda Club is a beautiful, historic country club in Minneapolis right on the lake. It truly looks like the White House! I love it’s sophisticated, yet colorful look. I love the bridal and groom’s suites for their spacious layout and great window light, and the ballroom has a fun green wallpaper that is fun, yet timeless. We don’t have many venues like it in Minneapolis, so this spot quickly shot to the top of my list of favorite wedding venues.
Ali and Eric are a fun, laidback couple who know how to throw a good party. You may remember seeing their Wayzata engagement photos on the blog earlier this year! We bonded over all graduating from Iowa State University where Eric played football. They have a carefree attitude, but sentimental as well. Eric’s gift and note to Ali on their wedding morning was one of the sweetest I’ve ever seen. There’s nothing like a thoughtful gift to your soon-to-be spouse to start a wedding day right!
I absolutely adored Ali’s dress and bridal look. The simple, sleek dress is organza sleeves was so perfect for the venue, and she looked amazing in it. Ali also put on a pearl headband for the reception, and I loved this idea to do a subtle change for a more fun, ready-to-party vibe! Plus, I’m a sucker for pearls at weddings! Truly, every detail of this day was classy and well-planned. It was a pleasure to be part of this Minikahda Club wedding with such a wonderful couple. Cheers to the Grahams!
