I'm Rachel
When I'm not behind the camera, I'm usually working on some version of a to-do list. House projects, packing for preschool, planning a trip - I love it all! I've been type-A and detail-oriented for as long as I can remember, which probably explains why couples tell me their wedding day timeline was one less thing to worry about. Before photography, I spent time as a teacher and dancer, which is where I first fell in love with paying attention to people — reading a room, anticipating the small moment before it happens. These days that same instinct shows up in a first look or a father-daughter dance. Outside of work, I'm mom to two young sons, and I'm happiest with a passport in hand — some of my first photography experiences came from wandering somewhere new, which is a big part of why I love saying yes to weddings that take me far from Minneapolis.

I have two sons, Miles and Adam, who keep me busy and put life in perspective. Since becoming a mom, I've become more sensitive to the beauty of relationships and how special it is to be a part of other families' stories through photography.

I tragically lost my sister in 2021. She was truly one of my best friends. I share my grief journey a lot on social media in order to help others process grief and support other grievers. Her loss reminds me to capture important milestones as if they're your last.

I'm a voracious reader! I aim to read 100 books every year, and I'm on track to meeting that goal. Since having kids, I'm mostly listening to audiobooks, but there's nothing that beats a great book in your hands (paperback preferred).
