Bre and Jay’s summer Capitol Room wedding was one of the most emotional weddings I’ve ever photographed. Tears flowed consistently throughout the day – in the best way. I even cried while editing this wedding! Bre unfortunately lost her father while we were in middle school. Her dad was my soccer coach when we were young, and I remember feeling so sad for Bre’s family. For the “father/daughter dance” at her wedding, Bre danced with both her mom and brother while watching a home video of her dad. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, including me! It was truly the most beautiful tribute and most emotional wedding moment I’ve ever photographed.

Bre and I go way back! We played soccer together in elementary school and went to school together all through kindergarten through high school. She has always been fun, sassy, and energetic. As my wedding photography business grew, Bre was always an amazing supporter. So when she got engaged and wanted to book with me, I was thrilled! When I met Jay, I couldn’t think of a more perfect couple. Jay is handsome, kind, and caring. Everything Bre deserves!

These two were supposed to get married in December of 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic surged in the winter, and weddings were hit with lots of restrictions. They decided to postpone to early July of 2021. The timing was perfect! They pivoted from a winter wedding to mid-summer and did so effortlessly. Bre and Jay tied the knot at The Capitol Room. The Capitol Room is a gorgeous industrial style venue in Saint Peter, Minnesota. I had always wanted to shoot a Capitol Room wedding, so this wedding day was just so exciting to me!

Bre wore a gorgeous ballgown and their details were classic and timeless. Bre and Jay love their two black lab dogs, so they even made an appearance for photos! The couple also gave out fancy dog treats as wedding favors. How adorable, right?! I love a personal touch at a wedding.
