Marissa and David’s Woodland Glasshaus wedding was probably my favorite of this summer! Not only did it give me the opportunity to explore this brand new venue, but Marissa’s taste was perfection. She planned a wedding containing all the current wedding trends perfectly, yet it still felt so “them.”

I shot this wedding while 35 weeks pregnant, and I was thrilled I was able to make it. I was fortunate enough to have 2 assistants helping me, and I’m so glad I did! There was so much to capture and the couple loved photos, so there was no shortage of work to do.

The Wedding Day

The day began at the Marquette Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The couple got ready for the day in separate suites before heading to the venue. The skyline views outside the windows created the perfect backdrop for this modern wedding day. The photos from the morning are some of my favorites of the entire day! Marissa’s wedding party was like a full paparazzi. From cell phones to point-and-shoot cameras, every bridesmaid was documenting the day from morning to night.

Once we arrived at Woodland Glasshaus, we were greeted by its impeccable design and perfect, sunny weather. We were able to take advantage of every corner of the grounds. I tried to lean in to Marissa’s love of harsh light and trendy angles with all of their portraits. My favorite part of the day was working with the wedding party. They were a large, excitable, boisterous group that were so thrilled to support this amazing couple. The couple was so “go with the flow” all day, and truly lived in the moment.

After an emotional ceremony and wonderful dinner, Marissa changed into an amazing second dress for the reception. The look was perfect from head to toe – including a pearl choker, gloves, and a corseted lace dress. David and all the guests absolutely freaked out when they saw it. She looked like a true pop star.

Marissa and Dave are the most gorgeous, genuine couple and were so easy to celebrate. I’m endlessly thankful that I was able to be a part of this stunning day. Enjoy some highlights from this stunning wedding at Bavaria Downs below.
