We took Alex and Andrew’s winter engagement photos in Minneapolis at sunrise on a Sunday morning. I’m always thrilled when clients are willing to photograph at sunrise. The light is so pretty and there are never crowds to deal with. I also love when my couples opt to take their engagement photos in winter. I think winter photos are so pretty and bright, and it’s a fun thing to look forward too in the winter months. Alex and Andrew were willing to do both, and I love the result!
Alex and Andrew and I all went to the same high school, but just a few years apart. They brought their sweet pup to their session to incorporate in a few photos. I love how their full family photos turned out! A pup who sits nicely in front of the camera is always a win. We were also lucky enough to have gorgeous morning sun for their photos that gave their images a gorgeous glow.
We shot these photos in early March, which can be a difficult time in Minnesota. Sometimes there are great heaps of snow on the ground. Other years, the snow is melted and everything is brown. We got lucky for this winter session. There was enough snow to get the bright, white look, but we also found spots that almost looked like fall instead.
