I shot John and Tara’s engagement session at Whitetail Woods Regional Park in Farmington, Minnesota on the most gorgeous spring day! The sun was beaming, but it wasn’t too hot. Talk about ideal shooting conditions! Whitetail Woods is one of my favorite spots to shoot because of its rolling hills (which are hard to find in Minnesota!) and quiet atmosphere. The few people I run into at the park during a shoot are always so sweet and welcoming as well.
John and I knew each other from high school, so when he reached out to me about engagement and wedding photography, I was thrilled to hear he had found “the one.” Tara and I immediately started following eachother on Instagram, and by the time their engagement session came around, I already felt like they were old friends.
Before I go any further, I also need to note that John and Tara have a CORGI, and they brought her to our session. If you know me at all, you know my obsession with corgis is out of this world! I had to practice some major self-control to get through their shoot, because their pup was seriously adorable. They brought a friend to wrangle the pup for most of the session and tire her out so she would sit nicely for our final “family” portraits. I could not be more happy with how they turned out! John and Tara looked amazing, and their fur baby is literally smiling for all the photos! And can we talk about that tongue?! CUTEST. THING. EVER. Leave a comment below and let me know which pic of her is your favorite.
