Timeless Summer A’Bulae Wedding – The Palmers

Weddings

June 17, 2021

Britta and Brett’s classic, timeless A’Bulae wedding is truly one I will cherish forever. The blush and black color scheme, simple decor, and loft-style venue all harmonized so perfectly. Plus, this couple has a special place in my heart.

The Backstory

Britta and I have known each other since middle school. We danced at the same studio and attended middle and high school together. We were close friends, and she’s always been someone I can just pick back up with where we left off! In January 2020, Britta’s mom connected me to her fiancé to help plan a surprise proposal! They wanted photos of Brett popping the question. Of course, I immediately agreed to help! Ironically, I had gotten engaged to my fiancé (also named Brett) only days before. It turned out that Britta and Brett also set a wedding date only two weeks before my own. Our intertwined timelines were so serendipitous, and I am so glad these milestones helped reunite Britta and me.

Since Britta and Brett, live in Chicago, they took their engagement photos with another photographer. However, I was honored when they chose me to capture their June wedding at A’Bulae. I’ve always loved this venue due to its floor to ceiling windows and proximity to Mears Park in St. Paul. These settings created the perfect backdrop to a beautiful wedding filled with laughter, love, and excitement to gather again after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wedding at A’Bulae

We lucked out with the most gorgeous weather for Britta and Brett’s wedding day. The day came at the end of a major heat wave in Minnesota, with many days in the 90-100 degrees. Luckily, it cooled down to the 80s on the Palmers’ wedding day! The ceremony featured a heavy breeze, but Britta and Brett didn’t let it phase them. Plus, Britta’s amazing bridesmaids hopped in to hold her veil as it blew in the wind. I love a great bride tribe!

The gals got ready in the morning at A’Bulae in their beautiful bridal suite while the boys were gathered across the venue in the groom’s room. Britta’s robe for the morning was crafted out of her mom’s wedding dress! How cute is that?!

Britta and her bride squad were amazing all day. They were all so helpful, thoughtful and fun. I knew many of the bridesmaids and guests at the wedding from high school, so it was a blast to catch up with everyone. After my photography duties were done, I even stayed to catch up and tear up the dance floor with some high school classmates!

I will forever remember capturing this day for a long-time friend. Check out some of my favorite photos from Britta and Brett’s A’Bulae wedding below, and be sure to give some love to their amazing vendors. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Palmer!
