Wedding at The Whim in Minneapolis

Katie and Josh’s wedding at The Whim in Minneapolis was the perfect summer soiree for a wonderful couple. If I could clone these two and shoot their wedding every weekend, I absolutely would. They were so laidback, genuine, and kind while bringing lots of laughs to their wedding day.

One of my favorite elements of this summer wedding was the color palette. The mismatched blue and white floral bridesmaids dresses paired with pops of yellow was absolutely perfect for an early summer wedding day. The touch of yellow brought a fresh feel to the popular dusty blue color scheme, and it brought the minimalist, industrial space of The Whim to life. Jennifer of Champagne & Lace is to thank for the floral and event design, and she knocked it out of the park.

I also look back so fondly at Katie and Josh as people and a couple. Not only did they have a well-designed wedding day, but they were just so sweet, fun and sentimental. You could feel the love radiating from them throughout the day and their care for their family and friends was so palpable. Katie’s sibling officiated the ceremony with beauty, grace and creativity, and their wedding party was so wonderfully supportive. Every person made this wedding feel like a true celebration, which made it easy for me to capture.
