This year, I began working with the amazingly talented Trish Allison Photography as an associate photographer. That means that I will occasionally shoot engagement sessions or weddings for Trish’s clients. Megan and Joey’s snowy winter engagement session was the first I shot as Trish’s associate, and we had an absolute blast! As you can tell – there was just a little snow on the day of their shoot.
I was checking the weather forecast obsessively that week. Originally, I was hoping the snow would hold off. It can be difficult to capture clients’ faces or maintain their hair, makeup, and outfits in heavy snowfall. As I drove to their shoot, I became a little nervous. Would they be worried? Would my camera miss focus with all the falling snow? However, Megan and Joey had the most positive attitude! They knew their snowy winter engagement session something they will never forget. Also, it makes for some stunning photos (if I do say so myself)!
We shot their session at Hansen Tree Farm, which we had all to ourselves due to the blizzard! Megan had packed a gorgeous blanket, adorable mugs, and some champagne to pop in celebration! We ended their session snuggle up by the fire pit, sipping champagne and laughing about how wet our hair was from the downpour of snow! It looks me 2 hours to drive to their engagement session each way, but clients like this and the resulting images make it absolutely worth it! The photos from their snowy winter engagement session are some of my favorites to date!
