This Lebanon Hills engagement session might be one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! Rachael and I went back and forth a bit to decide where to shoot their session, and I was thrilled when Rachael and Tyler decided on Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan! I grew up only a few miles away, so returning is always nostalgic for me! I shoot many senior sessions in this spot, but I rarely get the chance to photograph couples here. It was a great change of pace to use Lebanon Hills’ trees, fields, and bridges as backdrops for Rachael and Tyler’s sweet session.
Rachael and I met in college when we joined the same sorority in 2012. We were both transfer students to Iowa State and had nearly identical names! This spring, Rachael and I got engaged less than one month apart with nearly identical engagement rings. Next year, we’ll get married two weeks apart. So crazy, right? It has been a blast to have such parallel stories over the years, and I love the opportunity to connect with my brides as we plan our weddings together over the next year.
Rachael and Tyler brought the best props for their session: a puppy and a picnic! Their dog, Sam, was an energetic addition, but he was such a good boy for their photos. I love when I can snag a great picture for my clients with their pets. I know pets are part of their families, and it’s not easy to get a good group photo! I’m so glad we got so many cute images of Rachael, Tyler, and Sammy Boy!

We ended our session setting up the cutest little picnic to pop some champagne and toast the engagement. I love how these picnic engagement photos turned out, and Lebanon Hills made for the perfect backdrop!
