Cristina and Steven’s intimate wedding at The Blaisdell will make you wish you had a small wedding yourself. During the COVID-19 pandemic, so many couples have been forced to rethink their weddings day. Many postponed, slashed their guest lists, or eloped instead. It would be easy to understand if couples lost their cool! Instead, Cristina and Steven pivoted effortlessly and kept their focus on what matters – their love!
Cristina contacted me about one month before their wedding day. Crazy right? But that’s 2020 for you! She and Steven were originally supposed to get married on 9/12/20. They decided to postpone their big celebration to August of 2021, and moved their booking with their original photographer for that day. However, these two decided that they just couldn’t wait any longer to officially be man and wife. They decided to book the intimate ceremony package at The Blaisdell to say their vows in front of less than 40 of their closest family and friends.
I met Cristina at Amber and Ryan’s wedding last August. Cristina and her sister Carly operate Carats + Confetti, a wedding planning service in the Twin Cities. I was so excited when Cristina contacted me about shooting her intimate wedding, because I love reconnecting with fellow wedding vendors and have always wanted to shoot at The Blaisdell. There is no greater honor as a wedding vendor than when a fellow vendor wants to hire you! Since Cristina and Carly are wedding gurus, it was no surprise that this wedding day was perfect. They made an intimate wedding that felt cozy yet special and paid attention to every little detail.
The wedding day started at an adorable Airbnb where Cristina and her bridesmaids got ready. This place had amazing lighting – a photographer’s dream! – and was the perfect little space just a mile from the venue. Then, we jumped over the The Blaisdell for the first look. Cristina and Steven were even able to bring their dog, Lacey, to their wedding. I love a sweet pup, especially one as photogenic as Lacey was! This entire day was just filled with joy and love. I am so happy for these two, and I am so happy I was able to be a part of their intimate wedding at The Blaisdell. Check out some of my favorite pictures from their short, two-hour day below!
