Katie and Cody’s autumn Hope Glen Farm wedding was simply magical. They tied the knot on a cozy, overcast day in late September while the leaves neared peak autumn colors. Their wedding day was full of endless laughter, high school friends, and lots of scream-singing on the dance floor.
Katie and Cody’s wedding was a blast from the past for me. All three of us went to the same high school, but graduated in different classes. Katie and Cody didn’t start dating until college, but they had many mutual friends from Eagan High School who all gathered at their wedding. I was able to reconnect with a ton of former classmates at their wedding as well! I absolutely love how this job lets me reconnect with old friends and meet new ones constantly!
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the restrictions brought on by the global health crisis, Katie and Cody decided to forge ahead with their original wedding date. Their venue, Hope Glen Farm, is perfect for managing restrictions, because almost every aspect of the day is outdoors! Luckily, the weather also cooperated, and we were able to have a beautiful day without any significant rain! Although Katie and Cody didn’t postpone their day, they had to change nearly everything else: guest lists, table assignments, and even photographers!
These two actually hired a different photographer almost two years ago. Unfortunately, that photographer had to back out two months before their big day due to health reasons. Katie emailed me in a panic, explaining what had happened. Luckily, I had a postponement for their date and now I was open! I was able to step in, shoot an engagement session, and capture their wedding day! I am so glad I was able to help and get the privilege of spending this gorgeous day with Katie and Cody.
