Brye and Devon’s Eau Claire engagement session was so much fun for me! I love exploring and shooting in new places, so when Brye asked if they could do their engagement photos in Eau Claire, I was so excited! These two lovebirds met while attending University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, so what better place to document their love! I have some staple locations in Minneapolis that I love to shoot, but it’s always refreshing and challenging to do a session in a brand new spot. Luckily, Brye and Devon knew the area well, and they were able to recommend the most wonderful locations. We started their session on UW Eau Claire campus at the infamous walking bridge. Then, we moved to Putnam Rock, and finally finished up at Phoenix Park.
While scheduling their photos, Brye and I decided to do a sunrise session rather than shooting their photos in the normal evening golden hour. We figured we would have an easier time shooting on campus before all the college students were out and about! The 7:30 start time had me up at 5:30 AM and on the road by 6 AM, but I don’t mind! As a morning person, I had no problem agreeing to a morning road trip. (And I love any excuse to grab a white mocha from Starbucks).
Brye and Devon were troopers in the cool, winter morning temps and were all smiles! I was so glad to see sun in the forecast for their session time, and the glow of the morning sun added so much color and depth to the white winter background. I absolutely love the final look.
