Marissa and Phil’s autumn Stillwater engagement session was the stuff of dreams! We were lucky enough to capture their photos on a comfortable, sunny evening in September. The leaves were just beginning to turn. Coincidentally, we scheduled their photos for exactly one year from their wedding date! It was a perfect evening, and a fantastic way to celebrate their “negative first” anniversary. Marissa and Phil are getting married at A’Bulae next September on the anniversary of the day they got engaged! How cute is that?!
I have known Marissa for over four years now. We work together at my day job. Marissa and I were both hired at Avionte right out of college, and we hit it off immediately. She and I talked for hours about one day marrying the men we were dating. Fast forward, and here we are, planning our weddings at the same time! Though Marissa got engaged many months before me, she and Phil will be getting married a few months after Brett and me. They loved the significance of the date September 17th in their relationship and decided it was the perfect wedding date too.
Phil proposed in downtown Stillwater two years ago, so naturally we had to return for their engagement session! Phil popped the question at the beautiful waterfront pavilion, so I made sure to capture some shots in this significant spot. I had visited Stillwater before for fun, but I had never shot a session there until this engagement shoot. Downtown Stillwater has so many charming spots, and the autumn colors were showing off that night! We have had the most gorgeous fall weather this year, and I’m so glad I got to take advantage of it with these two!
