I’ve been dying to share this gorgeous destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico on the blog! Maggie and Eric initially booked me for their engagement photos in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At our session, they asked if I’d ever consider coming to Mexico to shoot their destination wedding. Of course I said, “Absolutely!”
Fast forward almost a year, and I joined them and 75 of their closest friends and family at the Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres just outside of Cancun. This beautiful five star, all-inclusive resort included multiple pools, excellent restaurants, a gorgeous luxury spa, an adult-only resort as well as family-friendly amenities, and more. My husband and I had never stayed at an all-inclusive, so we were so excited to explore the resort and enjoy. We ended up staying for five days, which was a welcome parents’ getaway for us and worked as a sort of early “baby-moon” for us!
Maggie and Eric’s wedding day was the perfect destination wedding day: warm, sunny, with a persistent ocean breeze. It was everything you imagine about getting married on the beach. The reception took place in an intimate, private pool deck with views of the gorgeous spa. I absolutely loved shooting an all-outdoor reception. We don’t get the opportunity to have many of those in Minnesota! Overall, the Grand Palladium provided everything they needed to make the day run smoothly and make the day as beautiful as possible.
Destination weddings can be unique when it comes to coordinating all the vendors from afar. Finding a destination wedding planner and a reliable travel agency is a necessity. It was fun for me to get to work with all new vendors for this day, and I love getting to shoot in new and exciting places! This was such a great exercise in creativity for me and a wonderful way to kick off my 2025 wedding season! Check out some highlights of this gorgeous day below.
